Carl Robinson - Newsletter Ministry

carl-robinson-130x163Carl I. Robinson is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana.  He lived in New Orleans for 31 years.  After graduating from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1973 where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and minored in Economics, his work career has consisted of several challenging opportunities with an ultimate goal of serving others. His first position was with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan as an analyst.  Later he returned to Louisiana, to reside in New Orleans where throughout his career as an Auditor, Bureau Administrator, Independent Contractor with Primerica and, PFS Investments, Inc., Assistant Revenue Collector, and finally Harbor Master of the N. O. Municipal Yacht Harbor, he has gained an extensive amount of experience in operations and financial management of annual budgets in excess of three million dollars.  Quite often he had to be self motivated, a good communicator, and good at problem solving.

In 2005 Carl retired from the City of New Orleans and relocated back to Shreveport/Bossier City area, a place he intends to call home.   He is continuing his work with Primerica as an Independent Contractor and with PFS Investments, Inc. as a Registered Representative.   This is a role that offers him the opportunity to express his passion for helping others, both individuals and families to develop and implement a plan to take control of their finances.

Carl is a product of the Caddo Parish Public School system.  His many activities at Valencia Jr. Sr. High School included:   Member of the National Honor Society; Member of the Student Council; Senior Class President; and Captain in the R.O.T.C.    He was Drum Major of the Valencia Viking Marching Band and he held 1st chair Alto Saxophone for the Marching, Concert and Jazz Band.  He also played Bassoon in the school’s concert band and held 1st chair bassoon for the Shreveport’s 1969 all city concert orchestra.

While attending Southern University, Carl was a member of the Southern University Marching Band “The Marching 100 – Human Jukebox”, active with the Student Council and a Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

Carl accepted the position with the newsletter ministry and has submitted himself to God to direct and use his talents to glorify God and edify others.  His prayers are that the newsletter will keep our members informed and that it will be a means of reaching out to our church family and visitors. Thereby serving as an open and gracious invitation to all of our friends and visitors to come and worship with us at Elizabeth Baptist Church.

Carl I. Robinson admits that the best part of his journey was when he met his wife, Doris Samuels Robinson.  He first saw Doris at a homecoming celebration at Valencia Jr. Sr. High School.  When he saw her he knew she would be the one he would marry.  Of course she had no idea so she had to be convinced.  But with perseverance and determination he put up a good argument in his favor and that is why they are together today. They have one son, Derek D. Robinson and are proud grandparents.
